Advanced Visualizations in SL - What is the latest and greatest in immersive technology for virtual worlds?
Working on the agenda. See the group email for an initial version. Final version will be posted on Thursday morning.
The meetup is hands-on, interactive and somewhat chaotic. Bring your laptop (or desktop if easily transported). If not, partner with someone who has a laptop. Arrive 15 minutes early to get setup.
We meet in classroom ATLAS 1B31, which is located one floor below the Atlas lobby. A map with floorplans, is at... http://www.colorado.e... Park in the Euclid AutoPark next to the UMC (student center), which is very close to Atlas. After 5:00 parking is $3 for the entire evening. Arrive around 5:00 and join us for a quick dinner at the UMC. Vic's Coffee Shop in the Atlas lobby is open until 6:00 for lattes. Afterward, we sometimes have a quick drink at a nearby pub to ponder the evening's insights.
There is excellent WiFi with a guest CU login. Our 'smart' classroom has movable small tables with hookups to four projectors/LCDs, so there are several SL activities going on simultaneously. Bring a long video cable if you can.
Join the SL Group "Serious SL Meetup of Boulder" and listen for group notices with our agenda attached. Enable SL Voice, mute your microphone when not talking, and join the voice session of the Serious SL group.
VIRTUAL ATTENDEES: We are committed to 'blended meetings' meaning that it should not matter whether you attend in the real world or the virtual world. We are trying to improve our techniques a bit each month. For this meeting we will try WireCast to broadcast a video that you can see on your normal browser.
